The couple who built this cutting edge innovative home in Port Melbourne created a house that is outwardly truly original and a reflection of the owner’s passion for environmental conservation, yet at the same time controversial as it is built within turn of the last century workers cottages in Port Melbourne.
With the clients extremely concerned about the impact on the environment it made sense that a hydronic heating system was chosen to heat the property; known worldwide to be one of the most environmentally friendly and economical to run. H2O Heating worked closely with the architects, ARM Architecture, and builder, Overend Construction, to design the most suitable hydronic heating system.
Whilst the outside is industrial looking with its entire cladding of water tanks inside is warm and welcoming a reflection of a true home; steel panel radiators were installed in both horizontal and vertical form to complement the room they were to heat and a chrome towel rail in the en-suite bathroom.
