This was a difficult renovation; the existing property was a heritage listed Bluestone cottage in historical Williamstown and whilst the clients were keen to retain the existing character of the property they also wanted it to be a liveable modern family home. What the clients successfully achieved was two contrasting sections; a preserved historical front and a modern two storey extension at the rear.
H2O Heating's aim on this project was to ensure that the heating system specified would meet the client’s needs and requirements in all areas taking into consideration this was almost like two properties in one; the traditional and the modern. It was decided a combination of panels and underfloor heating provided the best solution.
The property was later featured on Grand Designs Australia as a great example of a sympathetic renovation and overcoming all the difficulties associated with it.
H2O Heating had little dealings with the end owner of the property instead dealing directly with the builder, Portside Building Company, whom we have worked with on a great many projects. H2O understands the needs of the builder and works closely with them when setting schedules and installation stages.
